Probably the best thing that could happen is if USC were to take the Coliseum off the taxpayers' hands. The Coliseum Commission has historically been composed of incompetents. Let the best football team in LA continue to play in the Coliseum and let UCLA continue to play in the Rose Bowl September through early December.

Re: WIN-WIN: ROSE BOWL GETS USC; LONG BEACH LOSES NFL | The District Weekly

The NFL is evil? No argument here. Still, the thought of walking to the end of the Belmont pier and catching the Aquabus to our own NFL stadium is compelling. But we'd have to get concessions from the evil empire. How about, we automatically get first dibs on any player who played at Poly High, without exepnding a draft pick. Oh yeah, and how about a waiver of those silly substance abuse rules for our team. (We just won't let the players drive within the city limits.) What to do with the stadium during the off season? How about a combination roller coaster and aquatic center. So, all in all, can't wait to see the LB Breakwaters play.

Re: WIN-WIN: ROSE BOWL GETS USC; LONG BEACH LOSES NFL | The District Weekly

Timmy is right: the word is "alumnuses." One look at the Queen Mary and other city assets, and the answer is probably "NO".

Re: WIN-WIN: ROSE BOWL GETS USC; LONG BEACH LOSES NFL | The District Weekly

You say "85 years worth of crud" like it's a bad thing; you're not one of those anti-crud-ites, are you?<br>'Cause I know from crud, having peed in a urinal crawling with ants at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown L.A. I'm not proud.<br>Of course we all remember Stanley Mosk as the man who invented the Moscow Mule.<br>(Not really. I think he was a judge. Or a county supervisor.)
