<rss version="2.0"><channel><title>The District Weekly - Latest Comments in THE UNDEAD INITIATIVE | The District Weekly</title><link>http://districtweekly.disqus.com/</link><description>News, Arts, Entertainment &amp; More for Long Beach, Huntington Beach, and Costa Mesa</description><language>en</language><lastBuildDate>Tue, 23 Oct 2007 18:59:55 -0000</lastBuildDate><item><title>Re: THE UNDEAD INITIATIVE | The District Weekly</title><link>http://thedistrictweekly.com/daily/staff-infection/briefing/the-undead-initiative/#comment-1342877</link><description>The Electoral Reform California Initiative is very alive and well.&lt;br&gt;     49% of the people support the idea according to the Field Poll.&lt;br&gt;The opposition and we know that the voters are going to vote YES on the June 3, 2008 ballot.&lt;br&gt;              The Reform is a really good idea because:&lt;br&gt; $100,000,000 will be spent in California in newspaper, TV, and Radio purchases. &lt;br&gt;California being an ATM for national candidates will no longer exist.&lt;br&gt; It returns the power of the vote back to the people. &lt;br&gt; It reinforces our founding fathers concept of representative government. &lt;br&gt; Presidential candidates will no longer ignore California. &lt;br&gt; California will become a competitive market in the Presidential &lt;br&gt;race forcing candidates to campaign in this great state.&lt;br&gt; Grass roots political issues (energy/environment) will be discussed in the election. &lt;br&gt; Independents and third party votes will matter. &lt;br&gt; Local and Rural voters will have a voice.&lt;br&gt; California will reflect its political demography. &lt;br&gt; It enhances the importance of swing voters and competitive districts. &lt;br&gt;It is the fairest system possible.&lt;br&gt;The current system is that the winner of the popular vote in &lt;br&gt;California takes all 55 Electors. &lt;br&gt;The Los Angeles voters determine the Electors for the entire State. &lt;br&gt;This is not democratic, and is unfair.&lt;br&gt;Visit our website &lt;a href="http://ElectoralReformCalifornia.com" rel="nofollow"&gt;ElectoralReformCalifornia.com&lt;/a&gt;</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Tony Andrade</dc:creator><pubDate>Tue, 23 Oct 2007 18:59:55 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
