The District Weekly: SPORTS: MONSON GIVES LBSU HOOPS HOPE | The District Weekly

lbresident · 1 year agoMonson was the guy who architected Gonzaga as well. So he knows how to get a mid-major going in the right direction. I think he'll get LBSU to be consistently challenging for the big west title and ncaa tourney team just like Seth Greenberg did when he was coach.

drnoe · 1 year agoMonson was part of a long-term regime that brought success to Gonzaga. Their current coach, Mark Few, has been with the program for almost 20 years, and new USD coach Bill Grier was on the staff for about 16 years. Not to mention the longevity of current ass't coach Leon Rice. Along with this longevity is a solid, long-term commitment to excellence...GU has pumped money into the program in the form of salaries, budget and facilities. GU's out-of-conference schedules are among the toughest in all of Division I hoops...they'll play any team, any time, anywhere. It remains to be seen what LBSU will do in that regard, but they're off to a good start by hiring Monson.
