The District Weekly: SEP 5 ‘SAVE TRESTLES’ BENEFIT FEATURING THE CROWD
-
Gordana · 1 year agoAnd Trestles still needs to be saved, make no mistake! The Transportation Corridor Authority has asked the U.S. Secretary of Commerce - the site is federal property - to override the Coastal Commission's denial of the permit for the 241 toll road extension. And while the Secretary of Commerce mulls over his decision he's agreed to a public meeting on Monday, Sept. 22 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds (O'Brien Hall 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. ) to hear public testimony and more importantly to hear Californians DEMAND that the Coastal Commission decision be upheld. Go to www.savetrestles.org for more information. Write a letter. Sign the petition. Get to the hearing. Buses are being coordinated from major points in the LA area. If you thought the Feb 2008 Coastal Commission meeting that denied the permit was huge (attended by 3000+ people, the largest turnout in the history of the Commission, and lasted over 12 hours) just wait 'til you see what the Save Trestles coalition has planned for September 22.
