The District Weekly: ROHRABACHER’S CONSERVATIVE PRINCIPLES DON’T INCLUDE REAGAN’S 100TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

  • Mike Pilster · 6 months ago
Your making light of such a debilitating disease is despicable. What happened to journalistic integrity? Perhaps you can poke fun at people with cancer in your next column.

As much as I like the District Weekly, I generally detest OC Weekly and seldom bother to read it. I made an exception and followed the link you gave to Moxley's article. Considering the source, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised with what I found there. On the other hand, Dave's ad hominem attacks on POTUS40 Nancy Reagan and Rohrabacher are beneath anything I ever expected from him. Please be sure to tell us all when the cost of the birthday bash amounts to one millionth of one percent of the debt that The Obaminator has already amassed.

Reagan was an embarassment to this country and was actually a MUCH WORSE POTUS than George W. Bush--his administration was more corrupt and he did far more long term damage to the United States than any President of the last 100 years. His memory does not deserve a 100th birthday celebration.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I to mine. I actually got to meet the man at the old Lafeyette Hotel in downtown LB. He will always be the greatest President of my lifetime. Who else are you going to credit with the dissolution of the former Soviet Union? You are welcome to defend G. W. Bush all you want; I won't. So far, I count POTUS 43 as the worst of my lifetime, but that could change and soon.
Like I said in my original comment, be sure to tell us all when the cost of the birthday bash amounts to one millionth of one percent of the debt that POTUS 44 has blessed us with so far.

The Soviet Union was a house of cards, ready to fall on its' own.

Remember David Stockman and his "trickle-down" theory of economics? Used to be called "horse and sparrow" economics; that is if you feed the horse enough some will pass through and feed the sparrow.

reagan's terms were highlighted by nonsense like that, discredited by even stockdale himself.

Let's not forget star-wars, and the 1986 immigration "reform". What a failure he was, and we're still paying for it today.

I will say, he was a GREAT actor!

Oh well, there are still people who think nixon was the greatest, and to this day believe that tricky-dick didn't do anything wrong.

More disgusting, there are people who approve of our idiot governor!

Iran Contra, HUD grant rigging, EPA Superfund payola, dismantling the tax code and pusing forth deregulation that led directly to the S&L crisis (the blue print for our current mess), the pitiful head-in-the-sand approach to AIDS (Reagan didn't even say the word in public until 1987,

Hell, man I could go on and on.

Who can deny that Moxley is a hero for uncovering the extremely powerful later-convicted felon carona?
  • Residents First ! · 6 months ago
Ya, he is a right on dude. He got to hear a lot about the goings on around here recently too. He and Dave are tight. Last clue.

Let's not forget that 'Steel' Dave Wielenga, took down 2 Huntington Beach Mayor's for corruption too. Both got arrested, charged with Felonies.

Hmmm, sweet heart land deals. Politicians doing favors to print huge money for 'friends'. Sound familiar a a Council level this time?

You need to hear Moxley tell the story about slipping into Dana's house one day, as a 'friend' let in by a housekeeper. And Dana comes down from the shower, in a towel, see's him, plotzes, and runs around like a mad man yelling....Get that son of a bitch out of my house.... Get that mother F...er off of my couch. It was like he had to command the maid to be his bouncer or something.

Moxley is lucky he didn't leave wearing a toe tag.

You all need to hear Dana's rant before Congress a few weeks ago. How banning DDT was wrong, and the poor Pelicans might have slightly moe flexible shells, but that this ban cost Millions of life's.

And how global warming is merely a theory, foisted upon us by the eco nuts, and the media, and the left. He goes on and on for hours about how the entire environmental movement is wrong, but he is right. Unbelievable. He seemed high on something. It reminded many of Rush Limbaugh with a gut full of narcotics again???

So check out the latest highly placed rumor, and test balloon. Dana wants to retire, and DeLong is being groomed for the seat, and has his eyes on it.

Dear Mr DeLong. feel free to resign here soon, and thank you for your service. Many would not mind a bit, if you start your campaign early for us !! Clearly you do not like being at council, or listening to the testimony. Your attention is worthy of much, much bigger things.

Start walking Huntington Beach for us, soon, please... and carry Dana's brief, or ''brief's'' all that you want. In a way you are, kindred souls.

Good luck. You're going to need it.

Did you know that Dana's wife was convicted of election fraud but somehow was able to skip out on paying her debt to society? Hmmmmm . . . .
  • The Toad · 6 months ago
If the "rumor" is true, then you must acknowledge that the Peter Principle is alive and well in Southeast Long Beach. Isn't anybody going to recall the maniacal mental midget?
  • Anecdot7 · 6 months ago
How narrow minded to sum up the life of a great President by the last ten years of his life. I hope you are spared the dreadful death of Alzheimer's.
  • howardx · 6 months ago
arch-traitor reagan deserves that and more.
  • Anecdot7 · 6 months ago
It's thanks to President Reagan that you have the freedom to make remarks like that. If the communists had won the cold war you would be in a gulag for speaking against your leaders!
  • howardx · 6 months ago
dream on. reagan was either a traitor or he was the stupidest man ever to attain the office. either he was running the show or he wasnt, you dont get it both ways.
  • High Hat · 6 months ago
I don't really care if Reagan was directly responsible for wall to wall corruption and nearly total disregard for American democratic principles in his administration. He was President, therefore HE was responisible--period. All I know is he was the worst President of my lifetime and I go back to Eisenhower. The Cheney-Rumsfeld cabal that ran things for the first 5 years of George W. Bush's tenure was bloody awful but even at their absolute worst they couldn't hold a candle to the bastards who ran things under Reagan. Only a handful of them went to prison, it's true, but many more SHOULD have been.

Lets see, Long Beach in the same constituency as parts of the OC. I wonder which area is going to get the money and attention?

I might be wrong, but I'm sure I read that LB port mitigation credits were used to fund the restoration of the Bolsa Chica wet lands. Huntington got new wetlands and Long Beach got more port pollution. Please explain this situation, Dana.
