i debro, a.k.a. mother pray for the unrighteous who are following the ways relating to the end times.a victim of a violent crime of the same 7 eleven 1994 l.b. blvd., long beach/ the city council members have been put on notice, within the confines of the meetings, and via e-mail, phone. attack trhis black mom who is of mixed decent , who tries to love everyone. i feed the homeless with my little portion, and i try to plant flowers in the hearts of those i meet. i never professed to be perfect, nor so for star, but the trappings of my life have'nt changed me. they have made me strong, and given me the patience of job. the truth is i said,"if it's ok to knock my daughter out, line up you're girls, and let me do the same , if it's all american. of course, i don't want to hit anyone, i want this cry for justice to mean something to the pulse of america. we all have'nt crossed over the line of,"self-betrayal". see youtube/711star/myspace/is justice for sale/or google using our names. how is this story getting so big if the movie did,nt happen, why am i here now. give us a break. be human for a minute and refuse to see justice be denied...just say no....my heart is strong. god's gift. shout out, Damonte ,10yrs. young who believes, he's been to 4 out of 5 rallies, i luv you...

it goes with the territory, the digging up graves, and attempting to go thru the closets of the victims, unless it's your daughter. why did,nt the police do anything to find the man that knocked my girl out? why did the city council put " mama" out? why are people angry because she say,s that 7-eleven is wrong, watch the movie youtube/711star and tell me different. also, people that don,t have the ability to differientiatiate between matters of the body and matters of the heart. if my daughter has such violence in her genes why does,nt lb have her in the system as a criminal,gangmember? why? i,m not sickened by anything, all attacks are expected, and respected, because small things come from small...... again, don,t die for a big gulp..and no, bad 7-eleven, you can,t knock my daughter out. no family,hey i could be hooked on crack, walking down pch, to the cities regret...this ain,t jena it,s long beach.say no to this violence. it was wrong 3 yrs. ago and it,s wrong now...i believe you,re mad at the wrong people. ok, iv,e been evicted, spank my hand, then give star justice. i,m saddened by the hostility of the long beach police dept. and the city of long beach..ms. saad aka mommy

I couldn't believe what I was reading. Sue me, sue you, sue everybody. Only in America. This was one of The District's best stories. It is a shame that Harris was hit, but c'mon, why not just sue the entire city of Long Beach? Absolutely mental. This ain't a racial issue. It's an issue of money hungry moochers poaching businesses and landlords. It is obvious. And listen! You don't "invest" in Slurpees, you purchase them. Do we need to put warning labels on dollar bills? Have they no pride? The Harris' case makes no sense. (or should I say cases, plural)

I really can't figure out the slant of this story. I mean, it's well done, and well-researched, but I'm left feeling that something is missing here. Am I so used to reading opinion as news that I no longer know what to make of a piece in which I detect no opinion? Or have I just missed it?

Seriously, this is blowing my mind. For the first time in, forever, I don't know whether I agree with the author of a piece or not. And I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

This story is eye opening and harsh for the party involved. Ms. Debro and Ms. Harris rather representing them or hiring an attorney have the right to do so. Who are you (anybody) to tell them the best way to handle this situation. I know this family personally, Star is not nor has she been a violent person to anyone, unless someone or something is trying to reflect harm on her and her family. She is a well educated African American female. She may not have all the answers and may not do things the way America would want her to, but she has the right to fight for what she believes to be true. Battery on anyone for no reason should never be tolerated especially on a woman by any man.

everyone see youtube and it tells the truth what you see is violence allowed, with a congratulatory drink see youtube/711star and all of the links to myspace. was what you viewed wrong? if the case had no legal merit how has it stayed on the dockets for more than 3 years? they have been looking for a loophole to hide the assault in i say no. 5629120499/5629120499/5629120210since all of my numbers are now on google call me if you have any heartfelt comments or if you are an attorney that says no to injustice. no to corporate corruption. ok ive been evicted from uninhabitable housing. have won lawsuits for the better of those unable to afford lb housing. thats for those unable to fight. ive been a good mother and friend to many. a teacher and a kind person even to my advisaries when allowed. i am human. my parents left me in the street, who was to fight for my girl if not her mom. there are no grandparents to do it. i survived a feat that no one should endure. lets say hats off to the fighters still willing to put themselves on the line for the right..........

in regards to our landlord hero these questions come to mind, if star harris is in fact guilty of all she said, my advice would have been that she file a police report, and a request for a restraining order, maybe she should have fought for her rights the way i do and she would'nt be holding in fear, remorse or did she just need someone to talk to when the reporter contacted her. she is'nt afraid of homeless people, she married one and takes him all over the world, she's not afraid of illiterate, employees with a history of crack cocaine addiction. see the police report filed based upon the theft from, my daughters apartment. slander is easy, but truth is harder to tell for some, but leave my girl alone without, substantiative truth, otherwise it.s defamation of character.. your fear is not documented anywhere except for this article. stop trying to make the victim the bad guy, when you surround yourself with bad guys and girls.and yes we have been evicted ms. downs from crack infested buildings. just because movies are made there does'nt make it a better place. you and others attempt to throw rocks, but please examine self first. it.s a shame that you would take this arena to say i'm scared but never before.we as women must like self and then you will knoww what hurts a woman, get in tune with your feeling because i pray for those attacking, thats cold, but it's ok...god knows the truth and our hearts. if you can drop by our rally

star, i feel for you girl. that must be horrible for you. keep fighting the good fight. one favor to ask though. out of respect for your surrounding neighborhoods please don't put up any more notices. not sure if you know this but most of them fall down from the trees and poles and end up littering our neighborhood. so chase your case and do your thing, but please respect the others that live around you as well.

I can't beleive what I saw. How can someone get assulted and the man working at the counter didn't even call 911. The man just got away without any consequences!!! I would keep fighting until you get justice. They shouldn't be able to get away with that!! Keep fighting!!

Wow.. I just had a recent small claims filed against a small business owner as well for $7,500.00 for illegally taking my credit card and fraudulently charging me at different location, tam, etc. My first time using small claims and I talked to some attorneys at www.civiltree.com and they told me I can only claim up to 7,5k which I think is completely wrong that individual that cannot afford a lawyer must waive their rights due to maximum amount allowed. I suffered up to $11,234.03 not to mention future identity issues. Authorities can’t do anything and card companies are also useless.

My trial date is next month...I indicate what happened if I can still afford to pay rent and electricity.

hi bill, i'm sorry that you know so little about me and my small family, but maybe the story was a trite tilted that way. i moved to california not from watts, but from a small village in sweden where i lived, not toured. i taught school in europe and modeled as well. because my mother left me in the streets, i worked to overcome my pain because of my devotion for my daughter who was born when i was 15. i never saw a ghetto until moving to the us, and in obtaining my education and surviving my character references do include those of superior court judges and state representatives, personal friends. i taught social studies , 7&8th grde, while working on a degree in admin. of justice. i believe in it. my life has been hard but i give motivational speeches, one is entitled, being a millionaire with 5.00 in your pocket. my phlisophy about money is it could only take me from a place where there are many sophiticated people, isuppose after so much rejection, the beach with a few poles would be ok. those that know me and GOD KNOW MY HEART.I'M NOT IN NEED OF ANYTHING, I'M SO RICH. I GREW GREENS AND TOMATOES AND GRAPES BEFORE ALL THIS HAPPENED, NOW GOING OUTSIDE IS TRYING. I PRAY FOR THE INCOMPASSIONATE HEART OF MAN. It is so embarrassing what our world has become. An African-American woman has first fell and then assaulted in 7-Eleven. An all you can write about is her past issues not the current situation. That is SAD! She still has rights as an American citizen. Now the world has to think twice about what stores are safe to shop in. CRAZY! Why is it every time someone is fighting a good cause people want to talk about the negative instead of the entire positive? As I have read other articles regarding this case and I have seen that Star Harris has a Bachelors Degree from DeVry Institute of Long Beach. So she is well educated and not just an uneducated African-American woman. There are a lot of positive things to Star Harris. We as a people need to stop trying to bring our people down. Think about it!

You and your Mom have fought to preserve your rights as human beings. I do not think I would have been as strong as you both are. Too hold onto your self respect and dignity is difficult in the best of situations and obviously this is not the best of situations.

Gimme a break! 36 different court cases since 1995!? These two are just out to manipulate the court system. They are a conniving duo with a disgraceful history of trying to steal from hard working business owners. When they win, they expect to collect. If they lose, they refuse to pay? Where’s the justice in that? What ever happened to earning an honest living? Do I feel bad for what happened to her that day at 7-Eleven? Somewhat. But seeking $2 million is outrages!

Yes, Star does possess a bachelors degree from DeVry University (in response to Yiasha Seals’s comment), but if you knew how she attained it, you would not be impressed. I know who Star is and what she’s about. I went to school with her around 2002-2005 at DeVry University in Long Beach. She in deceitful, I saw her cheat her way through the entire degree program. I met her during our second or third semester at DU and was surprised that she did not have any knowledge of even the most basic engineering skills. I later found out how she managed to slip so far. Anybody that is familiar with DeVry University knows it is a very small college. For the most part, the same professors teach the engineering classes every semester. So the curriculum does not change much from semester to semester. Star would gather notes, homework, and tests from students ahead of her and use this to get a passing grade. Doesn’t mean she knows much about engineering. Put her to the test. She does not know the first thing about what it takes to be an accomplished engineer, or respectable member of society. Everyone knew that she was leaching off the rest to get ahead. Eventually, I figured, it will come back and bite her. She even went as far (and this is a fact) to dig into a recycling bin during a lab and copied another classmate’s programming code. She was caught by the instructor and denied the whole incident (pathetic). I don’t know much of Star outside of school. But if her school habits are any indication, I am sure she is out to no good. I am just speculating, but I am willing to bet she is far removed from the engineering field. Who would seriously hire her? I personally do not have a grudge with Star, but it infuriated to see her graduate knowing that she did deserve it. Some may think that I am exaggerating, but I am hoping other former students will come forward and expose Star for the true person she is; a fraud. I am embarrassed to say I graduated along side her in 2005.

dear former classmate, well the magic word is " former".its good you are no longer in contact with star since it seems that knowing her was a negative for you. again we realixe that when people are going into your closets they will find corpses that want to breath the air of others, and you my dear , i believe are guilty of this fact. should star have cheated and yiu knew about, wear'nt you cheating yourself and your former classmates, if you informed no one of the " monster student"? it is more than words can say , when people spend their timme finding fault in others, but reaching out for their 5 minutes of fame through that supposed horrible person. when one has a sincere loathing for something or someone, the healthy thing to do is to totally distance oneself from that thing, or individual. star is as cute as she can be. shes always been personable, and easy to talk to, and she has mnay friends to talk to. you probaly know this whether you admit it or not. you ve been on campus when she drove up in her fully refurbished 1964and a half mustang. you know she's envied by even some as are many. shes the type of person that will give a free haircut to the child strolling the streets of long beach with an absent mom on crack. i never saw you there. oh, but maybe you have been, butyou were in disguised then as you are now. its easy to peer into the life of a honorable veteran who did'nt or could'nt have cheated her way through basic training, but you know our girl, she probably paid someone to do that for her too. she probably con her way through nursing school if we know her , and hey, who knows how big it gets, maybe shes not a girl at all, and shes conned us all? maybe shes peering into your window now, trying to steal your cure for cancer, and guard your notes for the next space craft design you spewed out of your brain last night.this girl is tricky. but hats off to a survivor, a friend, my daughter. im really quite busy with the real world, but classmate keep this in mind, you may or may not know that historically blacks were not allowed to read, and doing so could in many instances mean you would be the fruit of a nearby tree if detected. you were reading in the dark, upside down and any way you could. just having a text could mean death. i say hats off to this black woman who graduated from a university nott perfect,but it did allow through her hard work, effort and dilligence to have her name in the annuls of devry u forevere. you can't have her degree revoked, im sure if it were left up to you she sure as hell would never have made it out. if you think she has no skills as an engineer good, you wont hire her at your company. let me inform you, she was raised to believe you can do anything you want with dilligence. she could have chosen many paths an as an american she still can, and thank god, there is nothing you can do about, although i'm sure you would if you could. i think it a low blow that you would call upon others to attempt to say bad things about a person that has brought light into the hearts of many. we have a close relationship because she is my friend, a feat that apparently you were not able to accomplish. thats your loss. a word to the already totally knowledgeable one. if you live long enough, hopefully you will be able to see the flaws in yourself and then become more human, more compasionate to the hearts of man. i have mercy on those men with no feelings. the fact still remains that she was viciously attacked. if she was russian, it would be wrong, if she copied all of the labs you make reference to, it would be wrong. if she was unloved,fat,homeless,charlie manson, the nightstalker, it would be wrong. it would be my hope that those that met her are now gainfully employed and not prone to have the energy after working to emesh themselves so deeply into the life of a former student. by the way, what law school are you attending. i just wanted to make sure you were/nt at her school, who knows, she may cheat her way through the bar, give me a break. she has shown great personal strenght in these trying times. ok call me a conspirator, a bad person, but you dont really know me or my daughter . you sound a bit bitter, and for you i say, stay away from star harris, say this over and over, you can do it... i'm sure this wiil help in your rehabilitation. by the way, you made a freudian slip in your text, you said, she" did deserve the diploma....whoops... shout out to her friends and alumnus at devryu...

First of all I wanna humbly thank everyone for their support in this case.. I also want to say that any and all negative comments are expected why? Because I was born a Star, which means I have always been 100% hated and 100% adored.You were right in your initial comment, I deserved it. Why? God wanted it for me, it's obvious that you didnt . I have accomplished alot in my life before, and after Devry University.by the Grace of God, and his hand being on my life. Former Student, you stated that you didnt know me outside of Devry let me just give you a small resume. I graduated from Highschool at 16yrs old, went to the United Staes Army, stationed in Mannheim Germany, I was a Motor Transport Operator driving 18 wheel trucks transporting Amunition and Military Equipment. I moved to California, and obtained a Pharmacy Technician License, I also obtained a Barber License. Graduated from Nursing School, and worked as a Nurse, as well as a Counselor in Locked Down Facilities for troubled youth for 15yrs. I opened Starz Barber and Beauty Salon, and I worked at the shop from 9am-5pm and then left there going to Chevron Oil Refinery where I worked 12hr shifts 7days a week, then one day I decided I wanted a Degree. FYI, in response to your “Freudian slip”, I corrected myself in my following comment. Also, I am not the least bit bitter. She has no impact on my life. As far as me having the authority to get her degree revoked, I am flattered you think that highly of me. But, number one, I don’t have any power to revoke her degree. Number two, I don’t care. Why would I try to stop her from cheating? It wasn’t going to influence whether I graduated or not. Honestly, there is real no point in cheating through college. As long as you keep dishing out the money, you can attend DeVry. You just try to absorb as much information as possible. Cheating buys you an empty, meaningless degree.

You choose not to respond but you will still listen to what I have to say. Yes, mom, the truth hurts. Sincerely ask your daughter if she worked as hard as the rest of us to graduate. I just commented on what I saw and heard while at DeVry. You don't know who I am; therefore, my allegations are not credible to you. Of course you take it with a grain of salt. But if a group of people were to accuse her of copying and cheating, you would have to listen. Right? Deep down, she knows the truth. Congratulations, you paid $60,000 to fill up space on your wall. Do you know what the real "crime" here is? It is the fact that Saad and Harris have guised their lawsuits under the shadow of "civil injustice". But when we read the facts it is painfully obvious that they either don't understand or they just don't care. Reading their comments is almost excruciating if they weren't so outrageous. What "truth" are you fighting for? What "injustice" in the name of "civil rights"? How is this a "racial" issue? You are defaming the African-American civil rights movement and heritage by walking all over it in your quest for cash all the while pretending that you are upholding it. Quite sad, actually.

The fleeting words and opinions of a writer needing to get a story sometimes will rush into a story and miss the story as with this article, after hearing so much about the Star harris Saga and doing a little research i found the real story is of two survivors who have withstood the tests of times through the grace of God. This story didnt make and wont break the two of them since one of them never had any family. The devil in this case has chosen to send GATES in fugitle attempts to get away from what happened at the 7-Eleven store Aug. 20th 2004. Its a travisty that the victim has been shed in a light unseen before she cried out for JUSTICE, she wasnt in jail when she cried out, on house arrest, nor was she a convicted felon when she cried out. She was not in the store illegally, she was not in an argument, confrontation, or conversation with anyone in the store except the 911 Operator and the store employee, who you see on the video did nothing (www.youtube.com-711star) In slang terms they say dont hate the player, in this case its the victim being hated, we have come to a place in our world where a Mother is hated for defending the rights of her child regretably there was a man that came along time ago and he was hated for no reason without logic or forethought to the hatred. It seems that in this rollercoaster ride of a case a supernatural intity exist which is why the fight has not stopped, which is why the fight will not stop and I pray for Star and her Mother and I know that one day this case will be looked upon by those in the legal and public sector and many will be ashamed that they did nothing, now the writer of this story can go on voicing his opinion about others lets hope that one day his heart and soul isnt spread out over blank pages of news paper, but then knowing the two of them as I know the two of them as I said in the beginning he doesnt know the story regrettably he missed the story.

Hey former student got tired of hatin, where you at. I found out who you are from your outburst on campus. My REAL FRIEND he's there in The Masters Program. You wanted to Graduate beside me. But youre still there walking the halls of Devry University , your'e 6yrs in a 3yr Program and still counting and what? I'm gone with an A in advance Physics on my transcipt. This is basic math 6yrs in a 3yr program = DUMMY now you do the math. This has been a Spiritually Growth Producing Experience, which will be later expressed in my Music. Honestly, the most pathetic part of this whole issue is the fact that these individuals are looking for "Justice" in this 7 Eleven case, but are going to go "Bankrupt before allowing anyone to get a dime of their money" (as was expressed by the mother in reference to the court's judgement in another case against her).

If Susan Burgess didn't deserve the JUST money awarded to her, why do you deserve a dime from someone else in the same court of law?

Isnt it time to do another story about Debro Saad and Star Harris, the mother and daughter scorn and attempted to be drugg through the mud for fighting for justice.The legal system is the process Americans use in an efffort to have justice, which includes , not having the rights to the pursuit of happiness. Ms. Saad who believes strongly in God has said all along that God was their Attorney, and that he was working on their justice as they slept. its funny how fast the district was to attempt to defame the character of both of them, when the moms name and face should not have been all over California. shes very ill, but is still willing to fight for the rights of her child until death. many may be envious of the kind of love shown by Ms. Saad . The City of Long beach allows its constituients to be knocked out in their stores. If they were white has been the chant of many, but now that the story is very high profile, thanks in part to the district, the case is being thoroughly investigated for the hundreds of illegal infarctions that are riddled throughout the case in dvd, tape recordings and media , also, many lawyers,the attorney general and Pres. Bush have been notified of the atrosities. Criticism came with this ordeal, as though fighting for your rights in the system supposedly in place to protect and serve was a criminal act. no real violent person would have been able to refrain from violence after just seeing the dvd one time. Star wasnt a convicted felon when she was knocked out, she wasnt involved with the man, she recieved no help from anyone so in this case the right things have been done on the part of this family. They have said no to hate crimes and are still demanding justice, and we as their friends who attended the 7 rallies know justice will prevail. we all know the court dates have passed, been reset and passed again and the case Star Harris Vs. 7 eleven is still, still, still, on the California docket. longer than the O.J. Simpson murder trial. No case with No legal merit could stay on the docket for this long. Its not going to be possible to just let it go. Star, has spent so much time in court because she goes into situations LOOKING for a fight. LOOKING for a reason to sue hoping to hit a big payoff. She is a greedy, and angry person who is trying to use our justice system to validate her anger. She is the reason that business's must pay such high insurance rates which get passed on to the rest of us, thanks a lot dumb ass. With that being said, the 711 incident was horrible. I can see how the fall could have been an attempt to defraud the store, however the man pushing her down proves that bullies are alive and well in america. Was she a victim? Absolutely. Did she instigate the abuse by not allowing the men to make thier purchase until she was satisfied that her situation had been addressed? Probably. Make no mistake, Star is a lesbian who dresses like gangster and acts like she is the center of universe. It would explain why she has had so many legal issues. Nobody should be treated the way she was treated, but if you are going to flaunt your differences in peoples faces you should expect to take personal responsibility for the way you get treated, good, bad, or otherwise. A piece a advise to you Star....the world is not a battle ground, and you are not a warrior. Get over your self. Next, a word to man who pushed her down....You are slime bag asshole who deserves to be publicly beaten and branded a bully. Finally to everyone who was in the 711 that night, you should be ashamed of yourselves. When you see some one trying to scam the store ; you should speak up (the truth only please) and when you see someone get assaulted for Gods sake DO SOMETHING.
