You're a moron. Men write autobiographies all the time, so why can't women? It's also "unbecoming" for someone with no talent to talk about art. Are you a failed artist getting back at the world?

There's a huge difference between writing an autobiography (and all the time, as men apparently do) and writing a thinly veiled autobiogrphy masquerading as art, Peter. I think the Commie is saying what Chuck Palahniuk would say, which is that art which "stinks of catharsis" is hard to enjoy unless it's a really, really hardcore catharsis.

Also, "no talent," "failed artist"? I don't get why you're so bitter about this article unless you're married to Treem...or are you a failed artist getting back at failed artists getting back at the world?

When men write about their fathers it's mythic, when women write about their mothers it's self-indulgent, or whiny. Why can't art be personal? Since when did autobiography have to be hardcore? What's wrong with a woman writing a personal story that doesn't involve rape? Do women have to get raped for it to be of interest?

Why am I bitter? Because I'm tired of reviewers. They serve no purpose in society. Could we go on living without reviewers? Yes, easily, happily. Could we go on without artists? No. And reviewers don't seem to require credentials. All they need is an opinion.
