  • What a fantastic piece! Keep em coming please.
  • Thank you Rachel. By standing aside and letting these soldiers tell their own story, you've written one of the most moving pieces about a war that, through editorializing and stump speeches, too often becomes impersonal. I think we all want to write epic treatises on our own outrage and horror and sympathy, but as we approach Memorial Day, I appreciate the opportunity to stop and put myself in my place.
  • Thanks for the article about Ramiro, Felipe and Jeff. The stories of all three young men are very moving. They deserve the thanks of us all for putting it on the line. Heres' a wish for some well-deserved good luck for them and their fellow service members from a vet from another and older war.
  • Thank you Rachel for publishing my story and the stories of my fellow veterans. It was truly an honor to be able to explain our stories to you and the community of Long Beach. I have now 68 days of sobriety, and plan to keep it up one day at a time. I salute all of the fallen soldiers, they are truly heros and will not be forgotten. Semper Fi!
