The District Weekly: INTERVIEW WITH A RAPIST | The District Weekly

When it comes to laws that involve sex offenders, the passions of the majority must be tempered with reason. Overborne by a mob mentality for justice, officials at every level of government are enacting laws that effectively exile convicted sex offenders from their midst with little contemplation as to the appropriateness or constitutionality of their actions. Politicians across the county have approved almost every measure that deals with sex offenders in order to appear strong on crime. Given that the sex offender lobby is neither large nor vocal, it is up to the courts to protect the interest of this disenfranchised group.

That sex offenders are deserving of disdain is not the issue, for they surely are. The issue, rather, is whether they deserve the protection of the Constitution, which they surely do.

Ray is clearly Cardinal Mahoney. Knock it off Roger! You and your molesting brethren have recieved plenty of protection. Mostly from LA District Attorney Steve Cooley.

    See you at Mass,

That's pretty original. Let me guess, your next comment will be about castration.

is there any way we can get further clarification on what is actually happening in the photographs that accompany the articles [most specifically the print photo that was published in the most recent march 12 2008 issue for the 'interview with a rapist' article]. I feel it is almost in poor taste and irresponsible journalism to include a photo with absolutely zero notation as to what is occurring...especially when a number of individuals are pictured in an article about sex offenders.
