  • The Detroit Lions play in the city of Detroit, Dave. Just across the street from the Tigers.
  • a football stadium and or a casino is the last think i want to look at as i stare across the water. what exactly will this stadium do the rest of the year when it isn't hosting football games? please don't say host mega concerts because we already have a problem bringing talent to this city. why, because LA is too close.

    if you think a football stadium will be the smoke and mirrors this city needs to make people forget about all it's issues, you're sorely mistaken.

  • Ooops! I was wrong about the Detroit situation--wrong by, like, five years! That's how long it's been since the Lions moved from the Silverdome to Ford Field. My apologies.
  • Dave Wielenga has it right. No matter how you look at it, Long Beach could not afford the bring an NFL team to the city.
  • Dude, I'm all for an NFL stadium, as long as they promise to host a MONSTER TRUCK rally at least twice a year.
  • Maybe a bunch of hip-hop and gangsta rap concerts in the off season at our new stadium. That will get John Morris' Smooths good and busy.
