FIGHT TO SAVE MAIN LIBRARY CONTINUES

As John Canalis reports in today’s Press-Telegram, the question of whether Main Library will actually close–as recommended by City Manager Pat West and Mayor Bob Foster in the proposed Fiscal Year 2008-2009 budget, released Friday–is far from resolved.

  • The LBCC seems determined to stage a real life version of Fahrenheit 451. Except they don't have the stones to actually try and burn books.

  • Douglas makes a good point about Richardson. Why CAN'T people mobilize that quickly to rid everyone of Her Sleazyness?
  • First we need to focus on ridding ourselves of Congressman Rohrabacher's sleazy-ness - the library is in his district after all, and of course he hasn't said a peep.
  • Rohrabacher failed to have our local officials arrested and tried for their malfeasance over the last twenty years. This is true. He's not talking now because he's ashamed of his weakness. It's all his fault, really. He should have have seized control of the LB government years ago. You should have pointed this out long ago. Did you collude with him? How much did he pay you Marina? Next year we should put Compton and Hawaiian Gardens in his district. That would really fix his wagon. Why don't you make up for your failings and accomplish this Marina?
