I did not forget the bubble, though it did seem like an unnecessary and confusing step that couldn't be worth the trouble it'll probably cause. And yes, my Decline to State status did cause a minor commotion among the polling place volunteers, as if they hadn't yet had to deal with a non-partisan voter asking for a ballot, or even a democratic ballot, since I was deep in the heart of 7-figure Belmont Shore (C'mon, Mabel! Let's go to the ballot box and help ensure we keep our icy grip on the status quo!)

I wanted to vote for Ron Paul, but the Republicans didn't want us crazy non-conformists folks casting votes for their candidates. I'm sure the Grand Imperial Dragons of the GOP have a strategy behind that, but as a regular Amurrrikin guy with a vote, it just pisses me off. Instead, I voted for Barack Obama, whose name compels my Mac to put dotted red lines under it because apparently the mainstream technology world is not ready for Barack's jelly.

I realize that Paul and Obama (there's that gaddamn red line again!) may be opposites. Instead of voting on adherence to ideology, I cast my vote for the candidate that seems the least greedy, slimy, ignorant, inarticulate, or unethical. A candidate actually gets points in my book for being a little iconoclastic, so the obvious choice for me was Ron Paul. Maybe if he could have chosen a running mate who would have played Pinky to his Brain....

My voting experience today was yet another clear message from the Oz-Wizards of the two-party system: choose a side OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES! AH HA HA HA HA HAAAAAAAA!!!!!

I think I will pay no attention to the men behind the curtain.
