thanks for the tips and for making me drag out my elliott murphy. Here's something don't ever tell nobody: I used to listen to murph's "caught short in the long run" at every romantic bad turn and totally i-d with the closing line (roared, for him), "and goddam if i was a hero/ you know i would've kept our little world closed!" i never bot aquashow. he was one of those guys who, for perverse me, once i heard a song so great i never wanted to hear anything else by him.

also while i'm typing let me recommend kim fowley's 'international heroes' and elliott murphy's 'aquashow.' both are a weird mix of glam rock and electric dylan. lots of harmonica, lots of fur and make-up. many cool songs on each. not expensive but a little hard to find. neither out on CD i don't think but original LPs are kicking around... i got both of mine for like $5-$10. also i think billy joel is the session pianist on 'aquashow'!

haha man, the same records purchased on the same street... if you don't still have your vinyl, i wonder if i bought your actual old copies? if you're in a mood, check out the mike corbett/jay hirsh lp on atco from 1971. (if you don't already have it.) total brewer and shipley/CSNY vibe... you might like!

also ps: cool article on cinnamon cinder. ike and tina terrorizing the traffic circle. killer.

also ps: how mindblowing would it be if we DJed somewhere?!

I bought Marblehead Messenger at Platterpuss on 7th St. in 197X because the cover was so elfing cool. Then, I ended up liking Richard Greene's fiddlin, and whoever sang (Peter Rowan?). Also Honky Tonk S.C., by J. Edwards, Prine and Dillards and NRPS and Brewer&Shipley. You done good, son!

be bop is awesome and it's actually 'futurama.' they're a weirdly underrated band, possibly because their name is so awful. also just to clue you in -- keep an eye out for the SMALL TOWN TALK djs (myspace.com/smalltowntalk) because they play like the very good version of my inept collection.
