But let me weigh in on the Anonymity thing: First, there's an asymmetrical power relationship between political officials and the people they govern; so like you, Selfish Causes, I can understand why some citizens would want to remain anonymous.
But I get what Dave is saying: there's far more power available to those citizens when they go public. Imagine Martin Luther King Jr, but anonymous.
